Treloar & Heisel's Statement About the Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Treloar & Heisel’s Proactive Measures

Due to the impact of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), Treloar & Heisel has taken proactive measures to help ensure the safety and well-being of our employees, clients, and community, while also attempting to provide the same level of service to our clients.  In the pursuit of these goals, Treloar & Heisel has closed our offices and implemented remote working arrangements for Treloar & Heisel employees. With this remote working arrangement, we do not expect any disruption in our ability to service our clients.

Insurance Coverage Resources

Because insurance coverage is determined on a case-by-case basis, with varying facts, applicable law, and policy language, it is difficult to provide specific coverage information related to this unprecedented event. However, we are working with our insurance companies to obtain general information about insurance coverage and service. Due to the evolving nature of this event, this information may change over time.

At this time, Treloar & Heisel and our advisors can provide some general information, but each insurance company must be consulted for their coverage related to this event. You may contact your advisor as described above, to discuss questions you may have. We have provided links below to some of the insurance companies that have guidance or resources about this issue. Even though your policy may not generally cover these types of situations, we are still encouraging clients to file if you have a potential claim, so that the insurance company can make their determination.

Insurance Company Resources

State-Specific Resources

Many state insurance departments have issued guidance or temporary rule changes based on the coronavirus. In some states, insurance companies either have been requested or required to provide an extended grace period for non-payment of premiums to individuals affected by the coronavirus situation. Many insurance departments have also provided FAQ guides regarding coverage related to the coronavirus’s impact.  You should review your state’s response to the coronavirus situation and consider discussing it with your insurance advisor. We have provided links below to the relevant insurance department webpages for each state and the District of Columbia.
